Response / Summary to www.naa.org ( Trends and Numbers )

                                              Response to 'Trends and Numbers'
Statistic / Trends: 

a.) The statistics posted on www.naa.org presented the diversity of subscribers to news media, be it from print, online, or mobile devices. 

b.) The first statistic posted was the actual numbers of viewers/subscribers; being 69% (164 Million) of the adult population in the USA for a typical month. They access news by a variety of ways ( broken down later on ); the first being from print, the second being from online, and finally, being on mobile devices.

c.) An interesting fact about the viewers is that the majority of young adults 18 - 24 (59%) get their news from a mobile device in a typical month.
    
d.) The amount of viewers from mobile devices are increasing. ( up 58% from 2011 - 2012 )

e.) The average age difference between those young adults who read from mobile phones and adults who read from print is around 17 years. ( Those who read the news exclusively on mobile devices are younger by 4 years. )

f.) The newspapers media audience dipped by 2% during the transition from 2011 to 2012. When the mobile device audience are included though, it is reduced to less than 1% decline.

Health / State of the Industry:

a.) The total revenue for the newspaper outlets in the US declined by 2% in 2012. Along with advertising revenue. (Down by 6%)

b.) Though some fields of the newspaper industry are declining, some are growing. Such fields include; circulation revenue ( up 5% ), along with conventional advertising. ( up 8% )

c.) Other fragmented parts of newspaper media continue to grow.




Important facts:
1.) Nearly 69% of adults in the USA read some type of newspaper content during a typical month.
2.) The majority of young adults aged 18-24 (59%) typically read newspaper content from mobile devices.
3.) Average age  difference between those read from print and those who read from mobile devices is 17 years.
4.) The growth of newspaper audience from mobile devices increased by 58% in 2012.
5.) 7 in 10 adults access content from newspaper media each week.
6.) Decline of revenue from newspaper outlets by 2% in 2012
